Mayor John "JP" Pomierski

Term of Office 2008-2012

Mayor John “JP” Pomierski has lived in Upland since 1968 graduating from Upland High School and later attended Chaffey College and the University of La Verne.  He and his wife Kim have three daughters.  He is owner of JP Construction Company serving the Inland Empire since 1978.  He has worked with a number of Upland youth organizations, served on the Upland Housing Authority from 1996 to 2000.  Mayor Pomierski was elected in 2000 and re-elected in 2004 and 2008.  He continues to provide support to all of Upland youth sports organizations, Upland schools, services clubs and philanthropic organizations.

Mayor Pomierski serves on the City/School Committee and as the city’s representative to the San Bernardino Association of Governments Board Member, SANBAG and a member of OMNITRANS Executive Board, San Bernardino Council of Governments.  He serves as Chairman to the SANBAG Major Projects Committee and Chairman of the Housing Authority Board.  Mayor Pomierski is the Founder and President of the Upland Fire Foundation which provides support to the Upland Fire Department, and is an Executive At-Large Member of the Assistance League of the Foothill Communities.
