Upland City Library

The City of Upland employs a range of professional and clerical staff to keep the Upland Public Library running smoothly:

    • Professional Librarians with graduate degrees in library and information science (MLS or MLIS).
    • Library Assistants, Library Clerks, and Library Technicians (specially trained staff in customer service, research, technical processing, and/or other automated library services)
    • Library Aides (hourly wage workers to shelve library materials and keep them in proper order)

If you are interested in working at the Upland Public Library, please search the list of City Employment Opportunities for job openings in the Library Department. Or, you can call the City's Job Hot Line: (909) 931-4175.  Most library jobs have minimum requirements of education for application, and some require clerical tests; full-time positions require a physical examination by a City-appointed physician.

If you are considering pursuing a career in libraries, please visit these web sites for advice and job listings.

In addition, the Upland Librarians are more than happy to share their job experiences with you. Volunteering at the Upland Public Library also provides an excellent introduction to public library work.
