What is Money Smart Week @ Your Library?

Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign to promote financial education to the community. Launched in 2002 by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the program is now active in more than 45 states through national partnerships with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Cooperative Extension and the American Library Association.



$ The purpose is to provide financial resources to help members of the community better manage their personal finances.




$ Join us Monday, April 20th as we kick off our Money Smart Week with: Water Conservation and How to be Water Wise at 6:00 p.m. in The Brodie Room.



Barbara Taylor manages the operation of the City of Upland's Water Conservation Program. She has over 33 years of experience at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utility.

Computer Class - Browsing The Internet

We will be offering computer classes for Adults (ages 18+) every Monday (except for holidays) at 3:00 p.m. in The Brodie Room.

These classes are for beginners, as well as those seeking to enhance their knowledge of the following:

Week 3: Browsing the Internet
Week 4: Browsing the Library’s Website

Toddlertime

Toddlertime is a program for children between the ages of 2 and 3. Accompanied by an adult, these little library users will enjoy stories, songs, flannel board stories, puppets and fingerplays. The program lasts approximately 20 minutes and is every Tuesday at 9:30am or 10:15am.
No registration necessary, open for all!

Preschool Storytime

Designed for children ages 3-5, this storytime presents children's literature through picture books, flannel board stories, puppets, songs and simple crafts. The prgram lasts approximately 45 minutes and is every Tuesday at 11:15am or 1:30pm. This is an independent storytime.
No registration necessary, open for all!

Understanding Credit Reports and Scores

Money Smart Week Program:


Sheri Stuart is the Education Department Manager for Springboard and is responsible for the agency's educational programs. Sheri earned certifications with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) as a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor, Housing Counselor, and Consumer Credit Educator. She also holds certifications in the following consumer credit laws: the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. Sheri earned her Master’s degree from Central Michigan University and her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Sheri is the recipient of the NFCC Professional Achievement and Counseling Excellence (PACE) Award for Educator of the Year 2014.

Afterschool Adventures

"One-derful" Storytime

CLEO: Learn Ways to Manage Your Energy

CLEO (Community Language Efficiency Outreach) provides in-language energy efficiency outreach to the community by providing no-cost energy saving seminars and in-home energy surveys . These programs discuss simple energy efficiency strategies and provide information on SCE and SoCalGas’ residential rebates and income-qualified programs.
