Programs for Children | PawPals
A doggone good time!

Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon

Join our Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) registered teams for a doggone good time where kids can read to dogs for fun and great reading practice. Each child will be joined by one of our 10 dog/handler teams specially trained to work with children and to encourage their love of reading while snuggling with a furry listener. When a child has attended 5 times, (s)he will receive a free paperback book pawtographed by Amelia the Library Dog. They will also receive their own furry friend if they promise to read to them every day! After 20 visits, children will receive a Paws To Heal coloring book featuring many of our therapy dogs. This is a drop-in program and is encouraged for readers or beginning readers.

Our dogs take the summer off, so the last day to visit with our loveable P.A.W.P.A.L.S. will be May 31st.
