Scripps College Presents “The Adanfo Ensemble”

Scripps College Presents “The Adanfo Ensemble” at Levitt on the Lawn Concert. What: The Adanfo Ensemble, an extraordinary group of musicians and dancers from Ghana, performs a free outdoor concert at Scripps College. Event is open to the public. This is the first summer Levitt on the Lawn Concert. When: 6 p.m. on June 19, 2013 Where: Bowling Green at the center of Scripps College, 1030 Columbia Ave., Claremont, Calif. 91711. Who: The Adanfo Ensemble is made up of experienced and talented dancers and musicians who have been performing together since 2003. Why: Ensemble founder David Etse Nyadedzor was invited to the United States to share his knowledge of his native country of Ghana and became the first director and choreographer of a West African dance ensemble at Syracuse University. His life's work has been to bridge cultures through music. For more information, please see the attached PDF.

2013 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular Celebration

The City of Upland is proud to present its 27th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Celebration! This year's celebratory show will feature over 1500 pyrotechnic shells. Tickets will go on sale on June 3 at Upland Recreation and Community Services, Upland Public Library and Ford of Upland. $8.00 per person pre-sale and $10.00 per person the day of the event. 2 years and Under: FREE. The ticket booth and admission gates at the stadium will open at 5:30 p.m., with THE DOGS performance beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Fireworks Sky Concert is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. For sponsorship information, please contact the Recreation Division at (909) 931-4281.

We will be going from the Outback to the Glaciers, Australia, and New Zealand with a 3-night optional Fiji post tour in January 2014. We will also visit the Canadian Rockies by Train in April 2014.
