Tree Trimming Policy for City Trees

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance, trimming and repair of trees in the public right of way. It is the responsibility of the property owner to provide water and to trim away any low growth of the tree, such as suckers and shoots.

City crews concentrate their efforts on emergency work, such as fallen limbs and pedestrian and visibility obstructions. The contracted work consists primarily of area trimming block by block and removal of large, dead or diseased trees.
