Go to sea without leaving the port! Located at the Navy Pier in Downtown San Diego, the USS Midway provides a dynamic and enriching experience as guests take a look back at the history of one of America’s longest serving aircraft carriers. This morning, we’ll arrive at the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum for a 10:30 a.m. self-guided audio tour of the historic Naval Ship narrated by Midway sailors that brings the carriers history to life. Enter a floating city at sea and walk in the footsteps of 225,000 midway sailors who served our country and upheld the American ideas of strength, freedom and peace. There are more than 60 exhibits from the engine room to the captain’s bridge that are open for tourists to see. Time for browsing in the museum’s gift shop located on the hangar deck before we head off to Seaport Village, where you will enjoy lunch on your own. Grab a bite to eat at a hot dog cart and a sweet treat at an ice cream stand while taking in the scenery.
